As women, we all have those days we wish there was a quick fix to look a few pounds slimmer. Am I right? If you answered yes, then column dressing is the answers to your prayers!
First, pick a base color. Meaning pick 1 color for your top and for your bottom for a monochromatic base. Second, pick a contrasting topper to emphasize the column of color below and to create a slimming illusion.

Here I paired cabi’s Clip Art Blouse with black skinny trousers for my base. I topped these pieces off with the Tanner Trench. Now, this is no ordinary trench. She is a light-weight linen blend, which is why I wear this piece more like a blazer than an actual coat. I prefer the tie the belt back in a bow to nip in the waist.
And of course we need a few accessories to finish off any outfit. This bracelet is from chloe+isbel. I’ve recently learned about c+i and I love their pieces! So unique and versatile. I have received numerous compliments on this wrap bracelet.
Rothy’s are my new favorite shoes. I feel like that’s a bold statement. Due to the price point, I went with basic black pointed-toe to start. I chose to stay on the safe-side of colored shoes until I formed my own opinion. Opinion has been formed. They are amazing.
Rothy’s are made from recycled water bottles. Yes, you read that right. They are super flexible, machine washable and moisture-wicking (read: sweaty feet approved). I did go up a half size but learned they have the easiest exchange process ever.
They have 3 styles: The Flat, The Point and The Loafer. I have worn mine numerous times, walking many miles and have not once gotten a blister. Not one. If you’re like me, this never happens!
